COSC 208 - Discrete Sturctures3 Credits
(Fall, Spring) Prerequisite(s): COSC 113 or COSC 190 and either MATH 141 or MATH 150. This course in discrete mathematics is an integral part of computer science’s undergraduate
curriculum. The course covers fundamental mathematical concepts and algebraic structures, such
as logic, sets, relations, functions, induction and recursion, probability & statistics, and an
introduction to the theory of graphs and trees. The course’s purpose is to ensure that the
students become comfortable with the theoretical framework within which ideas in computer
science are expressed.
