PHLN 520 - Introduction to Fundraising



3 Credits (Every semester)
Prerequisite(s): PHLN 501: Writing for Social Impact, PHLN 510: Introduction to Philanthropy. Fundraising is a pivotal function in the life and sustainability of nonprofit organizations. This course presents an overview of fundraising practice, theory, and strategy. Students will learn about annual, planned, and major giving as well as about the importance of leadership in managing a comprehensive fundraising program. The course will involve practice with various forms of fundraising communications including case statements, solicitation and acknowledgement letters and it will engage students in fundraising planning and execution strategies.
