INSS 686 - Information Privacy and Security
3 Credits (Spring only) This course explores the methods for protecting sensitive information while maintaining stakeholder privacy and confidentiality in publicly available information. The course provides a formal framework for reasoning about disclosure control and the ability to infer the identities of entities contained within the data. Various perspectives of data integrity, privacy and security are discussed, including the legal issues, technical tools and methods, as well as social and ethical concerns and standards.
