ESOL 356 - Assessing English Language Learners

Prerequisite(s): None. Effective assessments provide teachers with the information necessary to adapt and refine classroom instruction to best meet the needs of their diverse student populations. This course explores a range of assessment tools within the areas of acculturation, language proficiency, and content-area learning. Topics include issues of reliability and validity, the role of language and bias, and test development.
