VCDM 380 - Flat Pattern Design

3 Credits

Prerequisite(s): ART 375. This is the introductory course for students in making patterns and how pattern making is applied to the apparel industry. Students will use flat pattern methods to transfer original designs from sketches to patterns with use of dart manipulation, added fullness and contouring; and emphasis will be placed on the use of the basic sloper or block.
