The government minor is designed for students who wish to broaden their knowledge of the scope and impact of government in society. The minor is designed to complement existing programs of the university by instructing students in the basics government and citizens in the polity. This includes exposing students to the key themes and concepts in politics at the local, national, and international levels. Pursuant to this objective, students must obtain 15 credit hours in the discipline by completing the following courses: GOVT 130 (Introduction to Political Science), GOVT 231 (US National Government), GOVT 315 (Early Political Philosophy), GOVT 145 (Introduction to Comparative Politics) or GOVT 342 (International Relations), and one additional government elective.
