Bachelor Of Science In Social Work
The Bachelor of Science in Social Work Program is a comprehensive four-year program that combines theoretical knowledge with practical training to equip students for professional social work roles. By adopting a generalist perspective, students majoring in Social Work should be proficient in applying various intervention techniques within a problem-solving framework. Graduates of the program will be prepared to pursue employment in different sectors or further their education in MSW programs or other graduate studies. Those pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Social Work are not required to pursue a minor. The major curriculum comprises 40 credit hours in Social Work. The program holds accreditation from the Council on Social Work Education. Students majoring in Social Work must achieve a minimum grade of “C” in all social work classes, as grades below this threshold will not count towards graduation requirements.
The curriculum is structured around General Education and Institutional Requirement classes, Social Work core courses, and subjects from associated social science fields. The Social Work core component of the curriculum covers fundamental knowledge areas essential for professional workforce readiness.
