VCDM 219 - Portfolio Review & Assessment I0 Credits
An initial assessment of the sophomore/junior level portfolio for all students in the VCDMA (BS) major. Members of the VCDMA and ART faculty; program coordinator and the academic advisor will use this portfolio to evaluate and document the students’ performance. It should be taken by the 2nd semester of the sophomore year or as required. This faculty portfolio review is one of two required to meet graduation requirements. This course and ART 219 must be passed before signing up for and in addition to taking ART 498 Senior Thesis and Exhibition and is a graduation requirement in VCDMA. It may also be used for and/or Art (BA) concentration/major students. (3) Three full-time, tenured faculty members in VCDMA and Art (including Program Coordinator) must officially approve the portfolio. This course is a Pass or Fail option, as these results will be included in students’ academic records. Students have until the next semester to resubmit a portfolio if it is determined that the portfolio is poor/unacceptable, or if it does not pass. There will be a maximum of (2) two times a student may take, successfully pass (or fail) this review and course. This review and course must be passed before students can and/or complete their senior thesis exhibition and graduate.
