SOCI 313 - Anti-Black Racism: Analyzing Racial Domination

Prerequisite(s): SOCI 101 Introduction to Sociology; SOCI 311 Social Inequality. This course examines the systemic nature of anti-Black racism as a particular form of oppression that pervades the everyday life and experiences of black folks. We will examine how social, political and economic forces within the United States capitalist system are inextricably intertwined with the ideology of white supremacy. This course will explore the permanence of anti-Blackness and the centralization of whiteness within U.S. institutions.
