PHIT 480 - Big Data and Analytics for Public Health

When Offered (Every Spring semester)
The course introduces the learner to Big Data in healthcare, which refers to the abundant health data amassed from numerous sources including electronic health records (EHRs), medical imaging, genomic sequencing, payer records, pharmaceutical research, medical devices, and more. The learner will be able to understand how Big Data analytics in public health can generate new knowledge, improve clinical care and streamline public health surveillance.
