PHSC 420 - Public Health Strategic Planning

3 Credits

When Offered (Every Fall semester)
This course will prepare students to apply knowledge of public healthcare organizations, health determinants, public health systems and policy for public health strategic planning. Through lecture, and small group discussion students will build on the core public health concepts taught in the previous courses to learn how to transition from evidence to action. Using analytical skills and evidence-based approaches, students will work in teams using public health data analytics, utilization metrics, and demographic data to create a strategic plan for addressing a current public health problem.

Prerequisite(s): None.
