BUIS 463 - Digital Business Innovation & Entrepreneurship

Prerequisite(s): BUIS 360 or consent of instructor . The Digital Business Innovation and Entrepreneurship course explores the dynamic intersection between modern business practices and the digital economy through developing entrepreneurial, global, and digital mindsets. Understanding the intricacies of business processes, operations, and the transformative power of information systems (IS) becomes paramount as we progress into the digital age. This course equips students with the knowledge and skills to navigate and innovate business technology. Through lectures, case studies, and hands-on projects, students will learn to contextualize business by leading with empathy to ideate, create, and innovate. Students will grasp the nuances of how companies innovate and how entrepreneurship drives change in this space. Moreover, the course will empower students to critically analyze the competitive advantages offered by new IS solutions, allowing them to propose cutting-edge solutions for real-world problems.
