JAPN 201 - Intermediate Japanese I

Prerequisite(s): JAPN 102. Building on the grammar patterns and vocabulary covered through JAPN 102, this course focuses on language use in a wide range of situations, including polite expression in formal situations. Students explore different uses of language depending on the situation by speaking, listening, reading and writing as well as incorporating cultural concepts. The class complements language acquisition skills with lessons on Japanese historical traditions and culture as well as the ways in which Japanese and African American culture have influenced one another.
