COSC 208 - Discrete Structures

3 Credits

(Fall, Spring)
Prerequisite(s): COSC 113 or COSC 190 and either MATH 141 or MATH 150. The course covers fundamental mathematical concepts and algebraic structures, such as Logic, Sets, Relations, Functions, Induction and Recursion, Probability & Statistics, and an introduction to the theory of graphs and trees. It is a course in discrete mathematics that is an integral part of computer science’s undergraduate curriculum. The course’s purpose is to ensure that the students become comfortable with the theoretical framework within which ideas in computer science are expressed.
