ENGL 301 - British Literature I3 Credits
(Fall) Prerequisite(s): ENGL 102. Talking trees, a wise dwarf, vomiting dragons, a sorcerer, warring sprites, and a recipe for eating babies make up some of the arresting content you could encounter in this course. This course is a survey of British literature and literary history from Old English through the eighteenth century. Major writers and works to be studied include Beowulf, Chaucer, Shakespeare, Donne, Jonson, Milton, Dryden, Pope, Swift, and Johnson.
