THEA 231 - Theatre Histories: Origins and Evolutions3 Credits
History of the Theatre I: Greeks to Renaissance Prerequisite(s): THEA 105. This course investigates theatre traditions and practices across the continents of Africa, the Americas, Asia, and Europe by reading and analyzing dramatic literature and theory. It examines the origins and progressive development of theatre with emphasis on important historical moments of theatrical evolution and revolution, while promoting cultural competency in the art form through the spaces it occupies and cultures with which it coexists. Required of majors.
