NURS 206 - Foundations of Nursing Practice

3 Credits

Prerequisite(s): BIOL 102 Introduction to Biology, CHEM 107 General Chemistry, BIOL 310 Microbiology II, BIOL 311 Human Anatomy and Physiology I and BIOL 312 Human Anatomy Physiology II and Co-requisites: NURS 301 Professional Nursing Perspectives and NURS 302 Health Assessment.   The course builds on the concepts and principles presented in the prerequisite arts and sciences. There is a continued focus on integrated processes of caring, communication, documentation, the nursing process, teaching and learning as well as culture and spirituality. Through the application. of student centered teaching-learning strategies, simulated skills laboratory and clinical experiences, students will be prepared to apply cognitive, interpersonal and psychomotor professional nursing practice competencies.
