CTEC 465 - On the Edge: The Internet of Things

Prerequisite(s): CTEC 435 This course will examine the theory and practice of how individual server applications work together to create a system that provides an enterprise level IT service. Systems of interest include email with spam filtering and virus scanning; a commercial website employing a content management system and a backend database; a web caching server and web proxy with content filtering; and a network management service. Students will study, install, configure and maintain the component applicationsof the systems; understand how they work together to create an IT service; evaluate their performance and learn effective approaches to troubleshooting.
