PHIS 475 - Public Health Informatics Project Management

Prerequisite(s): PHIT 285. This course explores the emerging project process and the management approaches needed to make Public Health Informatic projects successful. Students will compare project management methodologies and analyze strategies including concepts and technologies for health information management (HIM). Topics covered include planning, scheduling, control, evaluation, and the politics of projects, as well as staffing and teamwork issues. The course reviews the processes of organizational change, leadership, and the need to plan and manage change for the long term process or project success.
