Business Administration Major


General Education and Institutional Requirements (46-47 Semester Hours)


Arts and Humanities (6 semester hours)


One course in each of two disciplines in arts and humanities 

Science (7-8 Semester Hours)


Two science courses, at least one of which shall be a laboratory course

Discipline/Courses

Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Physical Science courses. 

Mathematics (3 semester hours)


One course in mathematics at or above the level of College Algebra

English Composition (6 semester hours)


Two courses in English Composition

Social and Behavioral Sciences (6 semester hours)


One course in each of two disciplines 

Free General Education Electives (9 Semester Hours)


Elective note:

*Students should choose the Econ course that that was not taken to satisfy the Social and Behavioral Science category above to count towards this Elective requirement. 

 

Technology (3 semester hours)

Note:


COB students require a minimum letter grade of a C to pass these courses. 

Students are encouraged to take SUMMER courses and attend MINI-SEMESTER in order to have a manageable semester load.

In keeping with COMAR, the College of Business reserves the right to specify suitable general education courses for all majors.

Note:


Students must complete 3 credits hours of College of Business elective at the 300-400 level from the following subject areas: ACCT, BUAD, BUIS, ECON, FINA, MGMT OR MKTG. BUIS 400 - Special Topics in Info Systems or BUIS 458 - Health Informatics, is recommended.

A maximum of 3 semester hours of calculus and computer languages courses may be used as College of Business Electives.

DANL 300 and above can be used for Business Elective Course Requirement.  

MATH 155 can be used for ECON 351.
